December Goals

Novembers Goals were pretty simple, and I wish I could honestly say that I achieved all of my goals, but sadly I can't and that's just real life. We won't always be able to achieve all of our goals, sometimes trying is all we can do and that's ok.

Here were my Diabetes Goals for November:

Diabetes Goals
  • Get some basal tests in - yeah, sleep was just more valuable this month.
  • Try to have my highest number of the month be in the 300's - Success! My highest number of the month of 345mg/dl in which my husbands eyes popped out of his when he saw it. I just told him to calm down this is part of living with diabetes.
  • Check my blood sugar more often - Success! I have the calluses to prove it!

Here were my Non- Diabetes Goals:

Non-Diabetes Goals
  • Lose another 5lbs - I was just 2lbs away from this goal, stupid Thanksgiving.
  • Keep doing daily workouts - I did an ok job of this, I didn't work out everyday, but I did an ok every other day routine. I'm ok with that.
  • Continue building my blog - Success! I have been very excited and proud that I have been able to get 2-3 posts out each week. Hopefully I can keep this up!
  • Don't overdue it during Thanksgiving dinner - Success! I'm not going to lie there were a lot of carbs, but I didn't feel gross or like I needed a nap after.

Here are my goals for December. I'm feeling pretty positive that I can accomplish them.

Diabetes Goals
  • Have my highest number be below last months highest number
  • Get a basal test in
  • Try not to use my easy bolus as often

Non-Diabetes Goals
  • Be more positive. The Hubs and I were talking about how lately we have been negative nelly's and we want to work on it. It's not a healthy way to live life and can be very toxic so we are working on it.
  • Lose another 5lbs. I know it's repetitive  but when you honestly think about it in three month is you are successful you will have lost 15lbs.
  • Enjoy the holidays. It's always easy for me to miss out on the fun of the Holiday's because they just get busy. I want to honestly enjoy them, not end them frustrated or wondering where they went. I would like to be present and a part of it all.
I think I can manage this months goals a little easier. The only one that worries me is doing a basal test. I love to sleep, and getting up every 2 hrs from midnight to morning just sucks, but I have to do it. It's one of those little diabetes things that I wish would just go away.

  2. Way to go, Daley!

I love that one of your goals is not using your easy bolus as often - that's something I have thought about doing before, too.
