Diabetes Blog Week - Clean it Out (Day 3)

Yesterday we kept stuff in, so today let's clear stuff out.  What is in your diabetic closet that needs to be cleaned out?  This can be an actual physical belonging, or it can be something you're mentally or emotionally hanging on to.  Why are you keeping it and why do you need to get rid of it?  (Thank you Rick of RA Diabetes for this topic suggestion.)

Today's post could almost be a Wordless Wednesday post. I don't have anything diabetes wise that I need to clean out per say, but I do have something diabetes that needs a desperate cleaning...

Yes, that is my blood checker and yes, that is my blood on the inside of that pocket. It is so unbelievable gross and I am sure unhealthy in some way that my dried blood comes off in flecks. At the end of each week I think, hmm.. .maybe I should throw that in the washer, but does it every make it in there, no! This is years of piled on blood that has been wiped from my finger with every stick. I think it is time to wash it. Fingers crossed that I actually do it!

  1. I use a make-up case for my PDM, and it has all my used test strips. There's definitely quite a bit of blood splatters on the inside. I suppose I should clean it but I just never thought about it!

  2. I have switched meters so many times in the past few years that my blood build on the case doesn't get that crazy but I can relate! I hope the cleaning works!
